NADA Auto Show 2026 master venue layout
The shipped master layout: halls, entries, walking routes, parking and facilities, with category filters and stall search.

Background

Visitors to Nepal's biggest auto show got a printed map and a QR code. Scanning it opens a pan-and-zoom floor plan where each stall is tappable, searchable and filterable by category.

The problem

The venue has poor mobile signal once it fills up, the stalls are irregular shapes on a designer's artwork rather than a grid, and visitors will not install an app for a two-day event.

Approach

  1. Static Next.js export as an installable PWA with an offline service worker, so the map keeps working after the first load.
  2. Stall hit areas traced from the actual Figma artwork by script: rotated, trapezoid, L-shaped and curved shapes become SVG paths with exhibitor data.
  3. Per-stall QR codes generated as SVG for print, each linking to its own route. Search, category filters, legend, sitemap and Open Graph tags.
  4. A web-vitals HUD used during tuning to keep pan and zoom smooth on low-end phones.

Outcome

  • Live at nada-map.vercel.app for the show, 25–30 August 2026. Works with no signal after first open.
  • Visitors move between a master layout and each hall, filter by 4-wheeler, 2-wheeler, light commercial, components, services, Made in Nepal and facilities, or search a stall number or brand. Map, Search and List views on phones.
